Hammer Museum Celebrates 14th Annual K.A.M.P. With Gal Gadot, James Corden, Curtis Stone, Lindsay Price and more.
The event raised $240,000 to support the Museum’s free family programming which serves thousands of children throughout the year. The unique event, conceived to engage and excite children and their families, featured art-making projects with acclaimed artists as well as children’s stories read by celebrity guests.
The event was chaired for the first time by Talia Friedman and Sherry McKuin. Over 1,000 guests attended this year’s celebration joining painters, sculptors, and creative types of all kinds in the museum’s courtyard.

Leading hands-on workshops in the spirit of play and experimentation, this year’s participating artists Eddie Rodolfo Aparicio, Zoe Blue M., Awol Erizku, Amir H. Fallah, Sharif Farrag, Chase Hall, Elliott Hundley, Maria Maea, Jane Margarette, Jill Mulleady & Alina Perkins, Megan Reed, and Austyn Weiner painted with berries, espresso, and other food stuffs to learn about the importance of composting; created rugs and baskets by weaving palm fronds; sculpted portraits of their future selves using vibrantly colored clay; and much more. Celebrity readers Gal Gadot, James Corden, and Curtis Stone & Lindsay Price read from their favorite children’s books Kind by Alison Green, Giraffes Can’t Dance by Giles Andreae, and Action Jackson by Jan Greenberg and Sandra Jordan, respectively. In addition to the artmaking and celebrity readings, attendees enjoyed a delicious lunch by Annie Campbell and music by DJ Reprise. Kids band Rookie5 performed “Take Me Away,” “Growing Up,” and “Kids in America” in the courtyard with a confetti cannon finale to close out the festive event.
